There are times when you might want to use your Android mobile or laptop in different places at the same time. This may be a frequent occurrence or a case where you want to connect both your mobile and laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot in order to use the internet. In this case, you need to connect both Android and laptop to an internet connection through an Ethernet cable (also known as an Ethernet card). When you get home, connect both phones or laptops to the Ethernet cable.

After connecting the phones or laptops, you have to plug in the USB to connect the mobile or laptop to your router. In order to connect the Android and laptop to the USB, you need to insert the USB cable into the USB port of the computer. The computer will ask you if you want to attach a device to the USB; choose yes.

Now that you have connected both the devices, plug the USB in the USB port of your router. It is best that you plug the Android and laptop directly into your router. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an Ethernet port on the router. Make sure that the Ethernet cable is plugged into the router, otherwise you might not be able to connect the phone or laptop to your router. Then, switch on your router and go through the setup. Once everything has been set up, it is now time to plug the phones or laptops into the USB port.

The Android or laptop will need a power source. For this, you need an external USB charger. In most cases, these external chargers can be used as back up power source for both the phones and laptops. You can also use the built in USB ports of your Android or laptop in this case. If you prefer, you can connect the USB cable to an external device and power the device by connecting the adapter of your choice. This option is highly recommended. However, make sure that your device is not powered down or that the device does not use the USB port to power the device.

When the phone or the laptop has been properly powered up, you can now go through the process of connecting the Android or laptop to your Wi-Fi network. You can either use your existing router or a new one for this. You may use the same network provided by your router. This will save some time and effort. Once your Android or laptop has been properly connected to your network, you can now set up your home network settings on both your smartphone or laptop and your existing router. The Android or laptop will now be automatically mapped to your router.

This completes the process of connecting both your Android or laptop to your Wi-Fi network. The result of connecting the phone or laptop to your existing router will be instant access to internet.
